Lawrence police, firefighters to square off on the football field on Sept. 18 to help Big Brothers Big Sisters

September 1, 2011, 4:51 p.m. Updated September 2, 2011, 10:55 a.m.

Members of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical will take on Douglas County law enforcement officers in a flag football game to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The second annual game starts at 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at Free State High School Football Stadium, 4700 Overland Dr.

The suggested donation to attend the game is $5.

A previous version of this story incorrectly stated where the game will be held. It will be held at Free State.

LJW got it wrong. The game is at Free State Stadium. I just called Big Brothers/Big Sisters and confirmed this.

The cops joined the Police Department because they couldn't get hired on by the Fire Department.
