Douglas County prosecutors have filed charges against two Leavenworth men in connection with a gunfire incident earlier this month in Lawrence.

According to court records, prosecutors have filed three aggravated assault charges against Mardo W. Johnson Jr., 21, who early on Oct. 9 is accused of firing shots outside Taste, Lounge, Bar and Grill, 804 W. 24th St. Johnson also faces one count of criminal discharge of a firearm.

Lawrence police said they arrested Johnson and 18-year-old Spencer S. Hildebrandt after they were found in a gray Cadillac that police believed was connected to the incident. Prosecutors have filed one count of obstruction against Hildebrandt.

No one was injured in the incident, and both men after their arrests had posted bond and appeared in court Monday afternoon.

A judge set Johnson’s next hearing for Nov. 22, and Hildebrandt is scheduled to appear in court again Tuesday.
