Kansas forward Thomas Robinson boxes out UCLA forward Travis Wear during the first half on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at the Lahaina Civic Center.

Kansas forward Thomas Robinson was named the Big 12’s player of the week, the conference announced Monday.

Robinson averaged 17 points and 12.3 rebounds while helping KU to a 2-1 record at last week’s Maui Invitational. In all three games, the junior posted a double-double.

In addition, the Washington, D.C. native made 20 of 40 shots (50 percent), 11 of 17 free throws (65 percent) and added four assists and two steals.

Robinson’s 20 points against Georgetown tied a career high, while his 15 rebounds against Duke were a career best.

Robinson, who is averaging 16 points and 12 rebounds per game, is one of only two Big 12 players to average a double-double this season; Iowa State’s Royce White is the other.

KU (3-2) will play host to Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
