Lawrence police arrested a 58-year-old Lawrence man early Saturday morning on charges of aggravated criminal sodomy, sexual battery and criminal restraint, said Lawrence Police Capt. Bill Cory.

Cory said police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Haskell Avenue just after midnight Saturday, where they interviewed the suspect and the victim — a 30-year-old Lawrence resident — and then arrested the man.

Formal charges against the man could be filed on Tuesday in Douglas County District Court.

The Journal-World does not name suspects in sex crime cases unless they are convicted.

Even as sarcasm (if it is sarcasm), this is crass. Making jokes about sexual assault is not acceptable; especially in light of the fact that if this poor woman got pregnant our own Governor would feel no compunction about forcing her to bear the child.

Yes, and then once she had the child there will be no SRS or school budget left. But then all He cares about is before the child is born.

Not to mention, he has full parental rights.

Sounds like it was in Edgewood Apts.--Lawrence's version of the Projects. The Topeka paper will provide the names tomorrow or the next day.

My comment was a bad joke about the relative ages between the male 58 and female 30, but what is really funny and sad is so many people here seem to believe you can get pregnant and have a child needing SRS assistance and parental rights from sodomy.

So was it the anal sex reference or the attorney joke that was so offensive that got my post flagged?

Didn't get to read your post before it was removed. But, Sodomy, is typically understood as unnatural sex acts to include oral, anal, and bestiality. So this person could have been committing any of this acts.

True enough and but none of those acts, with out some kind of miracle, would lead to a pregnancy requiring a free abortion or a child needing SRS assistance, parental rights for the offender, and eventually requiring arts education. I am not sure if the previous posters are ignorant of basic human biology, ignorant of the law, or just hysterically ignorant. I do know they have no sense of humor.
