May 22, 2011, 3:26 p.m. Updated May 22, 2011, 7:20 p.m.

Traffic was backed up along Interstate 70 Sunday afternoon after an injury accident occurred seven miles west of Lecompton.

The accident occurred in the westbound lane near mile marker 190. According to a report from the Kansas Turnpike Authority, a 26-year-old Manhattan man was driving a Dodge Avenger in the center lane when he rear ended the Ford Taurus of a 60-year-old Topeka man. The Taurus swerved to the left and struck the barrier wall, flipping and coming to rest on its top.

The Topeka man was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

No additional information regarding the victim or the situation leading to the accident was available Sunday evening.

TCJ reporting this man was just injured, not killed.

You're right. The report has since been updated to show that the man was only injured. The changes have been made above. Thanks for the catch. Unfortunate situation but glad the news is at least good.
