KU students earn record number of Fulbright awards

Eleven Kansas University students earned Fulbright awards for their work abroad during the 2011 academic year, a record-setting total for the grant program.

The awards provide funding for travel, insurance, maintenance and sometimes tuition for a full year abroad.

Award recipients are selected based on academic and professional achievement and demonstrated leadership potential. To date, 424 KU students have received the honor. This year’s class includes two doctoral students from Lawrence.
