Wichita ? One of two brothers charged in the death of a 13-year-old has been sentenced to life in prison plus 17 months.

The Wichita Eagle reports Alejandro Betancourt was sentenced Friday. The 27-year-old was convicted last month of first-degree murder for the June 2010 shooting death of Miguel Angel Andrade Martinez.

Prosecutors say Betancourt and his 20-year-old brother Eli were seeking to avenge their brother, who had been in a fight three weeks earlier, when they went to a house where they thought their target lived.

But it was the wrong house, and Martinez was shot multiple times when he opened the front door.

Eli Betancourt was found guilty of first-degree murder at a trial earlier this month. A teenager is scheduled to stand trial as an adult.
