Leavenworth Mallory Reynolds went a combined 4-for-8, and Lawrence High’s softball team destroyed Leavenworth, 17-0 and 12-0, in a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.
“We needed to come out here and take care of business,” LHS coach Reenie Stogsdill said. “We felt we were the better team, but we didn’t want to mess around with it. We needed to play at a high level.”
The Lions improved to 12-8. Both games of the twinbill were called after five innings because of the mercy rule.
Lauren Massey earned the victory in both games and improved to 12-6.
LHS will play in regionals next week, but won’t know when it will play until Friday.
