Salina ? Salina businesses want members of the military and their families to feel welcome in the central Kansas city.

Several Salina businesses are participating in a new effort called the Patriot Business program. The businesses will give a discount of 10 percent or more to the military and their families who live within a 60-mile radius of Salina.

Dennis Lauver, president and CEO of the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce, says participating businesses will have a sign in the window, and be listed on the chamber’s website.

He told The Salina Journal Thursday that the program helps military families, and also promotes Salina businesses.
