Fire investigators were requested by Lawrence police Tuesday morning to 2161 Quail Creek Drive, which formerly housed Pachamama’s restaurant before it moved downtown, to investigate a fire that had extinguished itself, said Division Chief Joe Hoelscher of Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical. Hoelscher said he believed there was no major damage to the building, which is just west of the shopping center near Clinton Parkway and Kasold Drive. Hoelscher also said no further information was available Tuesday as fire investigators were still looking into the case.
