Three arrested in connection with break-in, kidnapping, robbery

? Two Lawrence men were arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of breaking into a home, kidnapping a resident and demanding money.

According to police, a 34-year-old man forced his way into a home on Haskell Avenue. A 22-year-old man assisted in the robbery and kidnapping, Lawrence Police Sgt. Kirk Fultz said.

The men forced a resident to go with them to help them find someone else. The victim was punched several times in the face for not helping, Fultz said.

The men then returned to the home where they demanded money and began hitting another resident, according to police reports.

The victims were taken to the hospital for stitches, according to Fultz.

The two men were arrested on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and battery. The 34-year-old man also was arrested on suspicion of aggravated intimidation of witnesses. In connection with the case, a 34-year-old woman also was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery.
