Lawrence police on Tuesday afternoon identified a body found Saturday in a wooded area as a 32-year-old Lawrence man.

Sgt. Matt Sarna, a police spokesman, said the man was Gary Lee Jones Jr.

A Brookwood Mobile Home Park resident found his body Saturday evening in a creek area in east Lawrence between two entrances to the park, 1908 E. 19th St.

“It still appears at this time that there are no obvious signs of foul play,” Sarna said. “However, we are still trying to determine the cause of death.”

The coroner’s office worked with police to help identify the body. Sarna said officers are still conducting a follow-up investigation including toxicology and autopsy reports.

Soon we'll be done with the troubles of the land, the troubles of the land, the troubles of the land. Soon we'll be done with the troubles of the land. Going home to live with God.

Okay Lawrence wants this to go away so there is not an unsolved homicide. The victim, who had been smoking "wet", an embalming fluid soaked marijuana was stabbed and left for dead in a ditch. This came from a source that lives in the trailer court. Lawrence and Khatib want this shoved under the rug when there is a real crime and a real victim.
