Hearing for Thomas Robinson’s sister set

? The date of a hearing to help decide the future residence of the sister of Kansas University’s Thomas Robinson has been officially set for Aug. 17 in circuit court in Prince George County, Md., an attorney in the case said Thursday.

At the hearing, a judge will consider a motion of Jayla Robinson’s birth father, James Paris, to dismiss a complaint for custody of 8-year-old Jayla filed by Willatant Austin, Jr., the stepbrother of the late Lisa Robinson, mother of Jayla.

At the hearing, the judge could simply agree on the motion to dismiss or agree to have a custody case start to move forward.

Paris’ attorney has said Paris maintains he has always been involved in his daughter’s life and has taken proper care of Jayla since the death of Lisa last Jan. 21. Austin and his wife, Carrie, apparently wish to make a case Jayla would be better served living with them. Thomas Robinson has said he will have no comment on issues involving his family.
