KCMO police chase ends when suspect runs into McDonald’s

? Kansas City police chased a suspect driving a car at high speeds through residential areas before the driver stopped and ran into a McDonald’s, where he was taken into custody.

The chase began about 8:45 a.m. and was followed live by television helicopters. Media reports said the car might have been stolen, but police did not immediately release any information.

About halfway through the chase, the driver pulled the car over to let out a woman passenger. It’s unclear if the woman was taken into custody.

The driver then sped through suburban neighborhoods, thwarting several attempts by police to stop the car with sticks intended to flatten the tires.

He avoided any accidents before eventually stopping at the McDonald’s and running inside. A few minutes later, police were seen taking the handcuffed suspect to a police van.
