A 20-year-old Lawrence man faces an aggravated battery charge after an altercation early Saturday in the 1500 block of Harper Street. Douglas County prosecutors filed the charge against Chebon Chibitty after he was accused of injuring another man during the fight.

The victim was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital for observation. An LMH supervisor said Monday the man had been treated and released. A judge set Chibitty’s bond at $20,000 cash or surety and ordered him to have no contact with the victim in the case.
