A Kansas University housekeeper interrupted a West Campus lab burglary last week, as KU police say a man was attempting to steal computers from Smissman Research Laboratories, 2099 Constant Ave.

According to the police report, the suspect entered the building about 4:50 a.m. Thursday and attempted the theft, but the staff member who was in the building startled the suspect, who then fled the area.

Police recovered the computers that were valued at $1,600, and the incident is still under investigation.
