A home in the 800 block of Arizona Court sustained an estimated $500 of damage to a basement-level garage in a small fire early Saturday morning.

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical responded to a fire alarm call at 6:57 a.m. and elevated the call to structure fire status when officers saw smoke at the scene, Division Chief Joe Hoelscher said. No injuries were reported, and the home’s residents were expected to be able to return to occupancy by the afternoon. As of Saturday night, the cause was unknown.
