Charlie Weis undergoes successful hip surgery

Kansas football coach Charlie Weis had successful hip-replacement surgery Monday in Florida, KU announced on its Twitter account Monday night.

Weis will return to Kansas next week after the holidays.

Maybe he's doing some phone recruiting while he's laid up in Florida. I'm just happy that I can wear my " my coach can eat your coach" shirt again.

It's a dead period. No contact with recruits is allowed. I believe it is for the next two weeks.

An appointment for hip replacement is usually set up weeks to months ahead. Mine was three months in order to get the surgeon I preferred. Pretty doubtful the coach knew he would be recruited by KU when he set up his surgery.
