A man died in a single-vehicle accident that occurred 2:15 p.m. Saturday on I-435. The driver had been traveling southbound near Johnson Drive in Shawnee when his vehicle drifted off the left side of the highway into the grassy median, became airborne and struck a bridge pillar. The Kansas Highway Patrol was investigating the crash but was not releasing additional details Saturday night pending notification of the victim’s family.
