Man life-flighted after accident on County Road 1023

A 50-year-old man was flown to a Kansas City-area hospital Thursday night after a single-vehicle accident in northwestern Douglas County.

Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Steve Lewis said Tim Kilburn crashed his 1998 GMC pickup truck after he lost control while headed west in the 200 block of North 2100 Road, or County Road 1023.

The truck struck a tree after it had skid into the south ditch at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday. He was flown via LifeStar helicopter ambulance to Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kan. A spokesman for the hospital declined to give a condition update or confirm if Kilburn remained a patient Friday night.
