Sheriff’s officers investigating death of man found in mobile home

Douglas County Sheriff’s officers are investigating the death of an adult male camper who was found Monday morning in a mobile home in a campground near Clinton Lake.

Sgt. Steve Lewis, a sheriff’s spokesman, said deputies and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical workers found the man after they were called at 10:10 a.m. Monday. Lewis said the man had been dead “for some time” but that the cause of death was still pending as part of the autopsy.

“Investigators found no evidence of wrongdoing in the camper,” Lewis said.

The sheriff’s office did not identify the man.
