Overland Park ? Lawrence High’s softball team swept a doubleheader with Shawnee Mission South on Thursday.

The Lions won the opener, 7-2. Lauren Massey earned the victory and went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs. Kristen Bell, who went 3-for-3, added two RBIs.

LHS shut out SM South, 2-0, in the second game, which was called after six innings because of lightning.

Bell went 2-for-2 with a home run and an RBI. Lauren Byrn went 2-for-3 with a double. Massey pitched the shutout.

The Lions (6-6) will play host to Shawnee Mission East at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.
