Waukegan, Ill. Police say former Chicago Bears and Kansas University quarterback Bobby Douglass faces trespass and criminal-damage charges following an incident with an ex-girlfriend at her suburban residence.
Lake Forest Deputy Chief Glenn Burmeister says Douglass was arrested Wednesday night. He says Douglass and his girlfriend had recently broken up, and Douglass allegedly went to talk to her, tried to force open the door of her residence and damaged the frame.
Douglass was charged with one count each of criminal trespass to land and criminal damage to property.
The 63-year-old Douglass appeared Thursday in Lake County court. A clerk says bond was set at $10,000.
Messages left Thursday for Douglass’ attorney and at Douglass’ Lake Forest home weren’t immediately returned.
Douglass was with the Bears from 1969 to 1975.
He played at Kansas University from 1966-1968.
