KU School of Music offers deal on tickets

The KU School of Music now offers a reduced price ticket package for Lied ensemble concerts.

Season ticket packages for any 10 School of Music Lied Center concerts listed below are available at a reduced cost of $50/adults and $25/students and seniors. At the time of purchase, season ticket subscribers may select any 10 concerts from this list. Once purchased, tickets may be exchanged for different SOM concerts on this list at least two weeks prior to the performance for a $2 fee per ticket. Please note: The Lied Center charges a $5 service fee for each package purchase.

Single tickets to each performance are still available in advance or on the evening of the performance for the price of $7/general admission and $5/students and seniors. All single and season tickets may be purchased by contacting the Lied Center Box Office at 864-2787.

  • Sept. 28: KU Symphony Orchestra
  • Oct. 6: KU Wind Ensemble
  • Oct. 29: KU Symphony Orchestra Halloween
  • Nov. 10: KU Wind Ensemble
  • Nov. 30: KU Symphonic and University Bands
  • Dec. 9: KU Jazz Vespers
  • Feb. 5: KU Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble I
  • Feb. 17: KU Symphony Orchestra, student concerto winners
  • March 8: KU Symphonic and University Bands
  • March 29: KU Symphonyl Orchestra and Choirs present “Elijah”
  • April 1: KU Wind Ensemble
  • May 2: KU University Band
  • May 6: KU Symphonic Band
  • May 10: KU Wind Ensemble

I would be all for this except the School of Music website does an especially poor job of announcing what the ensembles will actually be playing. I love to support the students and the artists, but I will not purchase tickets in advance unless I know what I am purchasing.

Saw the headline and thought, "Loo must have been rehired to head up the music department."

That's what happens when the LIed Center became snooty and ran off townsfolks. That place has the most terrible sight lines, it really does. Is there a chiropractor in the house?
