KU seeking host families for international students participating in Thanksgiving homestay program

Kansas University is seeking host families for one or more international students over Thanksgiving break.

The Betty Grimwood Thanksgiving Homestay Program has been going on for 56 years. It gives Kansas and Missouri residents a chance to share family traditions with international students from the university.

The school says about 25 students participated in the program last year. Host families are needed for either Thanksgiving Day, or the full Thanksgiving break.

The homestay program began at the university in 1954 and became a tradition around 1959 when it gained national recognition.

Information is available through the university’s Office of International Student and Scholar Services.
