LHS soccer gets league win
Leavenworth ? Kaley Tesdahl scored a goal with 1.8 seconds left in double overtime to give Lawrence High’s girls soccer team a 2-1 victory over Leavenworth, the Lions’ first Sunflower League victory.
LHS had lost its last 10 games.
“It was a big sigh of relief,” Lions coach Matt Anderson said. “We’ve been on a pretty nasty losing streak.”
Olivia Dykes scored the Lions’ other goal in the first half.
Kristy Gerard assisted on both goals. Sarah Steuver also played a solid game for the Lions, Anderson said.
LHS (3-11) will celebrate senior night at 7 p.m. Friday.
