Emporia ? Lawrence High’s boys tennis team placed fifth among six teams Tuesday at the Emporia round-robin tournament.

The Lions’ No. 1 doubles team of Byron Varberg and Conner Schmidt went 2-1 and placed second.

The LHS No. 2 doubles team of Michael Sang and Eric Long also placed second, with a 1-2 record.

Ilan Rosen took fifth at No. 1 singles, and Matt Grom was sixth at No. 2 singles for the Lions.
