48-year-old Lawrence man enters plea in three indecent liberties cases

Pennay
A 48-year-old Lawrence man entered a plea Friday to multiple charges of sexually abusing teenage girls.
Terry S. Pennay pleaded no contest to two counts of indecent liberties with a child and one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
The Douglas County District Attorney’s office said the case involved three victims and was discovered in March 2009 when a mother brought her daughter to talk to investigators with the Lawrence Police Department.
The 14-year-old girl told police she had been at Pennay’s home and he had touched her inappropriately.
Police then learned of the two other victims during the course of investigating the case.
All of the victims were between the ages of 14 and 16.
Pennay is scheduled to be sentenced April 27.
He faces between 31 and 136 months in prison on each of the indecent liberties convictions. A charge of aggravated indecent liberties carries a sentence of between 55 and 247 months in prison.
