Douglas County sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon near Globe that sent one man to the hospital.
Sheriff’s department spokesman Sgt. Steve Lewis said the accident happened around 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 56 and County Road 1029.
Lewis said 19-year-old Brandon Downs, of rural Overbrook, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck south on 1029. He stopped at the intersection, then proceeded to make a left turn onto the highway, where his vehicle collided with a westbound Chevy S10 pickup truck.
The driver of that vehicle, Todd Cody, 20, Burlingame, was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Neither Downs, nor his father, 49-year-old Franklin Downs who was a passenger in the vehicle, was injured.
