The Miami Heat on Friday exercised the team option for the final year of former Kansas University guard Mario Chalmers’ contract. Chalmers will make just over $850,000 in his third season.
Chalmers has started 104 games for Miami, averaging 8.6 points and 4.2 assists a game.
“It’s a great fit for me, being able to play alongside D(wyane) Wade, and our coach, Eric Spoelstra, is a good coach,” Chalmers said. “My last year was kind of on the down. Some stuff happened. Things didn’t go my way. I’m trying to get refocused and ready for my third season.”
