Man hospitalized with multiple stab wounds Sunday morning

One person was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital Sunday morning with multiple stab wounds.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Ted Bordman, the incident occurred in the 1700 block of West 24th Street near Hampton Court Apartments. Police responded to the call about 4:15 a.m.

Bordman said a man had suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck and torso. The man was transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital and was expected to be transported to another area hospital once he was stabilized.

Bordman said police had two people of interest in the incident that they were waiting to interview. Because of a language barrier, Bordman said police were not yet sure if the two were witnesses, suspects or both.

No information on the victim’s condition was available and no arrests have been made.
