Olympian Billy Mills is scheduled to make a visit to Haskell Indian Nations University next week.
Mills became the second American Indian to win an Olympic gold medal when he took first in the 10,000-meter run in the 1964 Tokyo Olympic games.
He attended Haskell and is a graduate of Kansas University.
The public is invited to attend his speech at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Haskell Cultural Center.

Billy has visited many times, never forgetting his time at Haskell. He's been an inspiration to many over the years.

when i graduated in "1996" from Haskell he was there as guest speaker. Later when i was school board member for a small rural Arizona day school, i saw him in Denver Colo. He really is a nice person, great guy, great role model. i have a pic of him and me at graduation..... :)
