Eight KU students to study abroad on Fulbright research grants
Eight Kansas University students have earned Fulbright research grants.
Since the program began in 1946, 421 KU students — including this year’s group — have received Fulbright grants.
Those earning Fulbright grants include:
- Phillip D. Fox, a doctoral student in history from Lawrence, who will study in Spain.
- KuoRay Mao, a doctoral student in sociology from Lawrence, who will study in China.
- Lisa L. Rausch, a doctoral student in geography from Lawrence, who will study in Brazil.
- Baiba Zvaigznite Sedriks, a master’s student in curriculum and instruction from Lawrence, who will study in Morocco.
- Emelia C. Brooke, a master’s student in marketing from Lawrence, who will study in Mexico.
- Kristen Lea Reinert, a master’s student in German from Overland Park, who will study in Luxembourg.
- Alina M. Scalora, a spring 2010 graduate with bachelor’s degrees in international studies, English and Chinese; who will study in China.
- Andrew M. Hilburn, a doctoral student in geography from Hattiesburg, Miss.; who will study in Mexico.
Also, James M. Landes, a doctoral student in German from Olathe, received a German Academic Exchange Service Study Scholarship for graduate study at the University of Augsburg.
