A 25-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Thursday on charges of aggravated assault, battery and making a criminal threat.

According to Lawrence police, the man became engaged in a physical confrontation with a woman in the 1900 block of East 19th Street about 3 p.m. Thursday. The man then picked up a hatchet and threatened to harm the woman. No one was injured in the incident.

Lawrence police made the arrest at 3:49 p.m.
