Resident sends message about lack of snow removal by breaking window

Lack of snow removal angers resident

A resident who was apparently upset about snow removal at a Lawrence apartment complex on Thursday complained in a destructive fashion.

An employee at Graystone Apartments, 2512 W. Sixth St., discovered a food can had broken the office window.

Lawrence police Sgt. Michael Monroe said a note was attached to the can that expressed someone’s grievance about snow removal.

“They were upset that the snow hadn’t been removed from the parking lot,” he said.

Monroe said the note was not so much a threat as it was someone “venting” and rambling.

It caused $350 damage to the window. Monroe said officers Thursday morning had no suspects yet for the damage.
