Kansas City, Mo. ? A driver accused of leading Kansas City police on a chase and causing a three-vehicle wreck has died.

Reginal J. Tubbs, 22, suffered a broken back, broken leg, head trauma and a lacerated liver in the crash Wednesday night. His 20-year-old passenger sustained critical injuries.

Police began pursuing Tubbs after seeing him driving a vehicle that had been stolen twice on Monday. The first theft occurred during a carjacking, and the second theft after the car was returned to its owner.

The crash happened when Tubbs ran a red light. The drivers of the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.
