A woman was transported to the hospital Saturday evening after a car-pedestrian accident.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Damon Thomas, the woman was walking east across the crosswalk at the intersection of Ninth and Massachusetts streets about 8:20 p.m. While she was in the street, a vehicle turned to head north on Massachusetts Street and struck the woman in the leg.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Additional information regarding the victim and the driver of the vehicle were not available Sunday evening.
