KU Public Safety spokesman warns residents not to confront burglars

Kansas University Public Safety officers Wednesday were investigating an aggravated burglary. Two men are suspected of at 1 a.m. entering the Krehbiel Scholarship Hall, 1301 Ohio, knocking over some furniture and stealing a fire extinguisher.

Capt. Schuyler Bailey, a KU Public Safety spokesman, said officers were warning students to lock their doors and windows at all times and to report any suspicious activity to police. Bailey also said not to try to confront a burglar if you are home when one enters their residence. Instead, he said you should try to either get out of the home or lock yourself in a room and call police.
