KU officials decide to reopen search for new law dean after finalist takes job in Oregon

Kansas University will reopen its search for a new dean of its School of Law.

Provost Jeff Vitter announced on Wednesday that the search committee will be tasked with forming a new pool of candidates for the post.

The news comes after one of the four announced finalists, Michael Moffitt, accepted another position as the University of Oregon’s law dean.

KU officials hope to have the search completed by the end of the spring semester.

Stephen W. Mazza, associate dean for academic affairs at the law school, will continue to serve as interim dean. Chris Drahozal, a distinguished professor of law and associate dean for research and faculty development, will continue to chair the search committee.
