A small scooter lays on the ground as police investigate an accident near Orchard Lane and Iowa Street late Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the moped was reported to have minor injuries.

Traffic was slowed Tuesday about 5:15 p.m. after an automobile struck a moped near the intersection of Iowa Street and Orchard Lane.

The driver of the moped was reported to have minor injures.

Additional police units were requested to help manage traffic on the main thoroughfare at the height of the evening commute. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
