The Atlanta Falcons’ fifth-round pick, Kerry Meier, who was off to a great start in training camp, suffered a knee injury against New England on Thursday night and will miss the 2010 season, the team confirmed Friday.

A team official who confirmed the injury to ESPN.com said it was significant.

The former Kansas University standout was running crisp routes and has shown some nice hands in training camp, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
