Lawrence man transported to hospital after strong-arm robbery

A 55-year-old Lawrence man was victim of a strong-arm robbery late Wednesday night.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Bronson Star, police were dispatched to the 100 block of Perry Street shortly after 11 p.m. for man who had an abrasion on his head. The man said he’d been on a walk when he was struck in the head while under the North Lawrence bridge by someone trying to steal his wedding band from his hand.

The man managed to leave the scene and meet up with his wife. He was later transported to an area hospital to be monitored.
