— The Lawrence High baseball team won its fourth game in a row with an 11-6 victory over Shawnee Mission South on Thursday.

The Lions improved to 7-6. Lawrence is 7-1 in its Sunflower League games.

“We were flat at the beginning,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “We were really flat and didn’t play well the first two, three innings. We responded well in the middle part of the game.”

Tanner Kilmer earned the victory and helped his own cause by going 2-for-4 at the plate.

Albert Minnis went 2-for-4 and smacked a home run and two RBIs.

Lawrence will travel to Olathe Northwest at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

At this time list year Coach Stoll and the boys were getting cussed and ripped apart. Is a state title all it takes to get the negative people to shut up? Maybe the bitter bears are no longer a part of it. Or maybe they have been converted and are drinking the cool aid now. Don't know, but after a slow start I am surprised there wasn't more lash back. Good job Lion's fans.
