LHS baseball tops Olathe North

? Lawrence High’s baseball team defeated Olathe North, 8-4, on Wednesday at North’s field. Alex Laughlin struck out eight and was the winning pitcher, with Jake Johnson picking up the save.

Chris Parker homered and had two RBIs, while Albert Minnis and Ross Johnson also had two RBIs. Chase McElheney went 2-for-4.

“We stung a lot of balls. Even some outs were hard-hit outs,” LHS coach Brad Stoll said. “To come out with a win over a scrappy team like Olathe North … we’re pumped about that.”

LHS, 6-6 overall and 6-1 in the league, will travel to SM South today.
