A 39-year-old Lawrence man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on charges of aggravated battery.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Dave Hubbel, the incident stemmed from domestic problems in the man’s home. Hubbel said the man had threatened the mother of his children in several regards, including leaving threatening voicemail messages and holding a knife to her.

Police brought the man in for questioning and made the arrest at the conclusion of the interview.

The man was arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail about 5:30 p.m. on charges of aggravated battery and criminal threat.
