Traffic on U.S. Highway 59 south of Lawrence was stopped for nearly a half-hour Saturday afternoon because of a pickup truck fire. The fire occurred in Franklin County, near the Stafford Road exit.
A driver stuck in the line of stopped vehicles reported that the pickup had pulled off to the side of the road and became fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished shortly after 3 p.m. and traffic was moving by 3:15 p.m.
