Lawrence police arrested two men Friday morning who were suspected of breaking into cars near Ninth and Louisiana streets.

Officers arrested the men, a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old, just before 7 a.m.

Police were called to the parking lot of Hideaway Apartments., 941 La., when someone reported seeing the men burglarizing cars.

Police located the suspects near 10th and Mississippi streets.

They were booked into jail on a number of charges, including burglary, theft, possession of stolen property and obstruction.

Police are still trying to determine how many vehicles were broken into.
