Condition update

• A 34-year-old Lawrence man, who police said was stabbed Sunday morning in the 900 block of Ward Avenue, was listed in fair condition Thursday afternoon at a Kansas City-area hospital. Because he is an alleged crime victim, the Journal-World agreed to not identify the hospital. In the case, Douglas County prosecutors have charged Justin L. Chamberlin, 28, of Lawrence, with aggravated battery, aggravated assault and criminal use of a weapon. On Thursday, he remained in the Douglas County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Law enforcement report

• A 59-year-old Lawrence man on Tuesday reported a burglary and theft from a property in the 500 block of Minnesota Street. According to police reports, the incident occurred between 2 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Tuesday. A riding lawn mower, weed trimmer, tools and car parts were listed among the items reported stolen. The total estimated loss from the incident was $10,000.
