Lawrence High tennis coach Chris Marshall had a pretty simple response after the Lions’ 11-1 victory in a duel against Olathe South on Tuesday at the Jayhawk Family Tennis Center.

“I’m very happy with it compared to yesterday’s drubbing by Free State,” the coach said, laughing.

Free State defeated Lawrence, 8-1, on Monday. A day later, Marshall noticed his squad playing with more confidence.

“We had a much better shot selection,” Marshall said.

Lawrence High will travel to Shawnee Heights on Saturday.
