Lawrence man arrested after pellet gun incident

A 38-year-old Lawrence man was arrested early Sunday morning after an incident involving a pellet gun.

According to Lawrence police Sgt. Michael McLaren, officers responded to a call in reference to a disturbance with weapons about 5:36 a.m. in the 100 block of North Michigan Street. McLaren said two Lawrence women had reported seeing a man in a white shirt and white shorts point a gun at them. The two women fled the area and notified police of the incident.

When officers arrived at the scene, they were able to locate the suspect and determined he had a pellet gun in his possession at the time of the incident. The man was booked into the Douglas County Jail on two charges of aggravated assault.

No one was injured during the incident.
